Branding & UX/UI Design
Project Scope
The goal of this project was to take an existing kickstarter and rebrand them as well as design them a website and mobile app. Restrictions placed on the project were to create an enjoyable shopping experience for the user across the site and app, and keep the design consistent between them.
Brand Design
Who is Sticky Sweet?
Sticky Sweet is a kickstarter based in Portland, Maine. Created by two sisters who enjoyed making ice cream that is all-natural, they together started their own kiosk selling ice cream that is vegan and gluten-free. Sticky Sweet became a successful small business in the area, and is trying to expand to sell their products outside of Portland.
Logo & Branding
Sticky Sweet’s current branding is very girly and cute, however their branding isn’t seen much outside the designs on the their ice cream pints and their kickstarter page. Currently their are at least 5 different types being used throughout their branding, and their photography-style heavily uses filters. By cleaning up the brand and reeling back on the “cute” aesthetics, I created a design for Sticky Sweet that is illustrative yet clean.
The logo is hand-drawn and meant to look graphic and pop. Sticky Sweet’s brand is very feminine, and by reeling back on some of the cuteness, the brand will target a broader audience. Sticky Sweet prides itself in being an inclusive brand to all peoples with dietary needs and restrictions, so it should be branded to appeal to all genders.
For the pint design, I made patterns based on each individual flavor.
UX/UI
Web and App Design
To balance the illustrative, poppy art style, the overall theme of the web and mobile app design is clean and business casual. The primary function of the site is to sell their product rather than be an informational site about their product.
